Nira and Crab Stick Egg Bowl

Hearty yet ready in just 5 minutes! Perfect for breakfast.

Ingredients

≪Ingredients≫ Serves 4
Mochi barley rice 480g
Imitation crab sticks 100g
Garlic chives (nira) 1/2 bunch
Beaten eggs 4
Concentrated mentsuyu (3x) (A) 4 tbsp
Water (A) 300ml

Instructions

  1. Shred the crab sticks and cut the garlic chives into 3cm lengths.

  2. In a frying pan, bring (A) to a boil, add the ingredients from step 1, and simmer briefly. Pour in the beaten eggs and cook until your preferred firmness. Remove from heat.

  3. Serve the mochi barley rice in bowls and top with the mixture from step 2.

Professor Toyama’s Quick Note

Spring is the best season for garlic chives. They contain allicin, which enhances the function of vitamin B1. Combined with eggs rich in B1, this dish is excellent for relieving fatigue. A nutritious breakfast served over mochi barley rice — perfect for busy mornings.
